PAST PROJECTS

CHAMBERLIN/DUNN

Since 2018, D Byers has been a subcontractor for Chamberlin/Dunn on behalf of the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) on a comprehensive implementation evaluation of the POWER Initiative spanning 13 states.  In this subcontractor role, D Byers has engaged with hundreds of individuals and organizations to understand their experiences and assess the impact of their work. 

TALENTNEO

In 2016 – 2017, D Byers was a subcontractor on the TalentNEO initiative.  TalentNEO is an initiative connecting employers and jobseekers through a shared language – skills.  D Byers was hired to lead employer outreach and engagement to demonstrate the value of embedding skills scores into the recruiting and hiring processes of targeted businesses.

DIOCESE OF STEUBENVILLE

D Byers completed a data analysis and clean-up project of more than 10,000 unique records in each of two databases, DonorPerfect and ParishSoft, for the Diocese of Steubenville in 2017.  The project involved cross-referencing data from each database to remove duplicates, applying data standards for appropriate account and individual entry, creating and implementing data upload processes, and identifying and segmenting data in various subcategories for marketing and communication purposes.

MAJOR NATIONAL NONPROFIT

In 2019-2020, D Byers was hired to enhance and improve on-boarding and off-boarding processes for employees at a major nationwide non-profit foundation.  Implementing and utilizing lean tools to ensure consistency and to enhance the employee experience across a remote workforce are the key goals.  Lean tools will include flow charts, checklists, policies and procedures that provide a transparent guide to responsibilities and tasks that need to be completed and serve as a foundation to implement lean across the organization.

STATEWIDE COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM

D Byers completed a grant development effort with a statewide community and technical college system. This multi-faceted project included grant writing assistance, consortium engagement and development, conducting labor market needs assessments, and overall project monitoring. The project resulted in a submitted DOL grant application for the lead institution and statewide community and technical college system to include a statewide project for all college partners and individualized local sub-projects for each college partner within the consortium.

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

D Byers has also been a peer reviewer for the United States Department of Education.  As a peer reviewer, D Byers read and evaluated grant applications to provide detailed, objective, constructive, and timely written reviews for each assigned application. The review process utilized U.S. Department of Education scoring and selection criteria worksheets, forms and documents and participation in panel discussions with fellow reviewers.  The reviews are used to recommend applications for funding and also require data entry into the U.S. Department of Education G5 portal.

TRANING ASSESSMENT AND COACHING FOR MANY ORGANIZATIONS

D Byers is a training, assessment, and coaching provider to many organizations.  Offering customized solutions, D Byers has proudly partnered with Central Ohio Technical College, WVU-Parkersburg, George J. Igel, Watertown Enterprises, Alcon, Ohio Valley Electric Corporation, the City of Huntington, WV, and Marshall University, among many others, to provide workforce strategy services including DISC training and assessments, Vital Learning, market based pay training, customer service, leadership development, Train the Trainer, executive coaching, and lean Six Sigma, to name just a few.  Online options are also available in many topic areas and D Byers recently joined the TTS and Gallup Clifton Strengths provider networks to offer even more options to clients.
